About the Role

We are seeking a Video and Compute Sales Engineer who thrives in customer-facing environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. This role blends hands-on technical work with strategic collaboration across sales, engineering, and product teams. You will support rugged computing platforms, in-car video systems, body-worn video solutions, and the backend infrastructure that powers them.

You will own the technical relationship throughout the customer lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery and live demonstrations to trials, deployments, and post-sales support. As the trusted technical advisor to Regional Sales Managers, customers, and partners, you will translate operational needs into scalable, reliable solutions that perform in real-world environments.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys field work, values autonomy, and wants to make a tangible impact in public safety and mission-critical technology environments.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations for compute and video solutions, both onsite and remotely
  • Plan, execute, and manage customer trials, including configuration, field testing, validation, and post-trial reporting
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts during evaluations, pilots, deployments, and post-sales support
  • Partner closely with Regional Sales Managers to support opportunities and grow customer relationships
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, trials, and industry events
  • Provide technical input for RFQs and RFPs, including solution design and written responses
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, wireless connectivity, and backend systems
  • Manage technical escalations and coordinate with internal engineering and R&D teams to resolve issues
  • Communicate technical findings, field feedback, and customer requirements to global engineering teams
  • Document trials, customer activities, and technical updates accurately in Salesforce and internal systems
  • Stay closely aligned with public safety industry trends and share insights with Product Management and R&D
  • Balance priorities across multiple customers and sales stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

Required Experience and Education

  • College degree preferred, but equivalent hands-on technical experience is welcomed
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical engineering role, ideally supporting rugged computing, mobile technology, video systems, or related hardware and software solutions
  • Experience working directly with field sales teams, engineering groups, customers, and external partners

Certifications

  • CompTIA A+ certification is required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire and kept current
  • Additional certifications such as networking, cloud, Microsoft, or video systems are a plus

Technical Skills and Expertise

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across laptops, tablets, in-car video systems, body-worn cameras, and supporting software
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, including image builds, drivers, BIOS settings, encryption, and OS deployment
  • Experience with backend servers, video storage platforms, wireless offload workflows, and data lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with vehicle-based technology integrations such as docks, mounts, routers, modems, antennas, and MDT components
  • Wireless troubleshooting experience with GPS, 4G, 5G, access points, and antennas
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud workflows, system architecture, and emerging AI-driven video technologies is beneficial

Professional Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Clear and confident communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across distributed teams
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering reliable, customer-ready solutions

Travel and Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50% to 75% of the time within the assigned region
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and driving record that meet company standards
  • Passport required for infrequent international travel
  • This role may support customers or projects that require access to secure sites or controlled environments. Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable legal and contractual requirements for such access, including work authorization and eligibility under customer security policies.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
